Town Fiesta, Way to Unite Our Hearts and Minds Together - Jose F. Rafols Jr.

Every year the town fiesta at Concepcion is celebrated on December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. People from the different barrios in the Island of Sibale come to town by foot, boat, horse and motorcycles to join in the celebration. It is amazing how people will come together in a bayanihan spirit. While nature sometimes does not cooperate, where typhoons and moonson rains happens to cloud the success of the events, people just continue with the celebration full of excitement and hope that all of this are graces brought from heaven. Politics are set aside and people joined hand in hand to make this town fiesta better and better and memorable every year. It is this time that the people put together their hearts and minds for the success of this once a year celebration. All of us wish to be part of this event every year but for some reason not all of us can participate. Yet their minds and hearts are with the people of Sibale joining our fellow Sibalenhon in celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. May the abundance of graces be bestowed upon the people of Sibale.

Tid Bits From Sibale Telecom - Limuel Cipriano

Fixing the broken lines--Sometimes a barrage of blinding and deafening lightning and thunderstorms shake the structure of the Sibale Telecom, thus mangled wires dangling overhead are  familiar sight in this highly elevated place. Clearing Tangled WiresEnteng Fajutagana,(in white shirt)Tower/Communication Technician of Sibale Telecom is doing the dangerous task of fixing the broken wires. Julius Fabreag, wearing a blue shirt is shouting instruction on what to do.

Below is inside the Communication Nerve Center of Sibale Telecom located in Mount Banderahan in Barangay Dalajican,Concepcion, Romblon. It is where the telephone calls initiated from Sibale to the rest of the world and vice-versa pass through. Sibale TelecomJulius Fabreag, rural telecommunication specialist is doing the sensitive task of fine-tuning critical electronic connection. He is also the Chief Operating Officer of Sibale Telecom.

Hello America.... Hello Engr. Jose Rafols. This is Julius Fabreag of Sibale Telecom, I am calling direct from Sibale. Sibale TelecomWith me

What happened to the Fiesta Spectators?
-Limuel Cipriano

Hello! Where are they now? — At first impression, it seems the town of Sibale is an abondoned, and depopulated paradise. On the contrary, minutes ago, this place is a host to a sea of humanity who witnessed various field and ground demonstration exercises. An annual spectacle rendered by different pupils and student representing different schools all over the island. Spectators have just left the public square to spend their sumptous meal as well as enjoy their afternoon nap (siesta) to recharge their exhausted energy wasted during their continouous jubilant shouting and clapping . Afterwards, they will once again troop and congregate to this place fully revitalized and in high spirits and resume their leisurely viewing and cheering activity. This photograph was taken at midday on December 8, 2001, the day when the people of Sibale, celebrated the Feast of Immaculate Conception, their Patroness.

Streamer says it all—Placed in conspicuous location, this banner straddles alongside the bamboo fence of  Sibale Telecom office built over the lot of the late Manfredo Fabreag Sr. in the town proper. From this simple structure made of native materials, the island of Sibale is directly connectedby telephone to the rest of the world. Relying mainly from homegrown talent and technology, the far flung island of Sibale can show to the whole world that even without government support, still some of its people has the capability and resourcefulness to meet the challenge that lies ahead.

Who are they? ….. and where are they?—From left to right: 1. Embet F. Fallarme, a motorcycle enthusiast maneuvering his local Harley-Davidson, 2. Rey Feudo, SB Member, wearing a pink beret and in confrontational gesture, 3.Julius F.Fabreag, electronic wizard and Chief Operating Officer of Sibale Telecom, partly hidden and sporting a flowing hair, 4. Rodil F. Famarin, Chief Tanod and Special Investigator of Barangay Poblacion, dressed in maong pants and long sleeves shirt with sneakers and brown beret, 5. Michael F. Faderogao, Administrative Officer, Concepcion National High School, his back against the bamboo fence and grinning from ear to ear, 6. Limuel F. Cipriano, Chief Executive Officer of Sibale Telecom, refocused his attention to the streamer as if contemplating what else is missing. 7.Nilcar Falculan, Retired Police Officer, his hands in akimbo and and he seems eavesdropping from the group. They are in front of the house of Manfredo "mokong" Fabreag Jr, General Manager of Sibale Telecom/Sibale Operation. In the bacckground are the parked motorcycles. At the back of the house Of mokong is the two storey house of the late Apeniano Figurasin . At the extreme right, the concrete warehouse of the newly built Concepcion Pier.
