Send Me Back Cards
By
Cynthia Fallarme Labora Fletcher
TO ASSIST IN SPONSORING A
CHILDS high school education in
Sibale "Send Me Back Cards" was conceived as the possible
source of scholarship funds.
Here is a copy of an article on our local paper :
South Western Times on Thursday, July 31st 2003 regarding my new and original
creation "Send Me Back Cards". It was well written and I thank Tiffany Laurie for
that. It sometimes is a worry how an interview comes out on paper. This one
came out just the way I hoped it would. It really hit the nail on the head.
I first thought of sponsoring a childs high school
education in Sibale and communicated with Bong Fornal of
the Sibale Development
Foundation Chairman regarding my goal and on how to go about it.. He then
mentioned to me that SDEF has a scholarship program being set up for the
2004-2005 school year for tertiary studies as there is more of a need for
that because less than 50% of high school graduates get to further their
education because of the lack of resources
I made inquiries of how much the cost of sending a
student to university and I must admit that my family simply do not have
enough resources to commit to that without help. The Fletcher Family
will support the SDEF's program and I pray that all other Sibalenhons around
the world would do the same. I am hoping that my new and original creation
"Send Me Back Cards" will help me in raising funds for that purpose. I believe
that I have created a special and wonderful product that people would enjoy
using. Perhaps one day, we could even afford to offer more
than one scholarship.
I have now started my fund raising campaign through
that paper article, I am now faced with the challenge of contacting
news agencies and or distributors for my product. Could we maybe sell my cards
through our website? I am selling the cards for AU$ 7.00 (seven dollars
Australian)
